Glasshouse and bee hive
Belleisle Conservatory
A volunteer-run glasshouse dating back to 1879, with over 50 plant species and a live bee observation hive. Free.
Hidden gem

The conservatory stands beside Belleisle's walled garden. It holds more than 50 species from around the world, including tropical plants, alpines and cacti.
Its observation hive shows a whole colony of bees at work: gathering food and water, cleaning, keeping warm and raising young. Volunteers restored the building and run it, with Sunday afternoon concerts and bee-keeping events.
