National Cycle Route 7 and the prom

National Cycle Network Route 7 enters South Ayrshire at Maybole and climbs over the Carrick Hills before reaching the coast at Doonfoot. From Ayr it joins the Ayrshire Coast Cycle Route towards Glasgow.

For an easy family ride, take the two miles from Ayr esplanade to Prestwick, mostly traffic-free, and carry on through the Troon golf courses to Barassie if you have the legs.
