Ayrshire Coastal Path
106 miles of coast from Glenapp to Skelmorlie, one of Scotland's Great Trails. Ayr sits between stage 6 from Dunure and stage 7 to Troon.
The path runs 106 miles along the Ayrshire coast, with the mountains of Arran across the Firth of Clyde most of the way. The Rotary Club of Ayr developed it and it opened in June 2008. NatureScot lists it as one of Scotland's Great Trails.
Stage 6 arrives in Ayr from Dunure past the Heads of Ayr and Greenan Castle. Stage 7 leaves along the seafront for Troon.
