Ayr railway station
ScotRail station 41.5 miles from Glasgow Central, with trains to Glasgow, Kilmarnock, Girvan and Stranraer.

The current station opened on 12 January 1886, the third in the town to carry the name Ayr. ScotRail runs regular services to Glasgow Central, Kilmarnock, Girvan and Stranraer.
The Category B listed Station Hotel above the platforms was badly damaged by fire in September 2023. In 2024 the council took down the tower and half of the northern section for safety, and the ticket office moved to a new hall at the north end of the bay platform.
