Racecourse and Sunday market
Ayr Racecourse
Scotland's premier racecourse, home of the Scottish Grand National in April and the Ayr Gold Cup in September.

Racing in Ayr goes back to 1576. The first official meeting ran in 1771 on a course at Seafield, and racing moved to the present site at Craigie in 1907, on a layout modelled on Newbury.
The Scottish Grand National came here in 1966 after Bogside closed. The Ayr Gold Cup, run over six furlongs, is the richest sprint handicap in Europe.
Every Sunday from 8am the course holds a market and car boot sale, unless the racecourse says otherwise.
The racecourse says its fixture dates can change, so check before you travel.
